Meeting the President of Slovak Republic

Members of the Association of Slovak Schools and Communities in UK, had the opportunity to meet Zuzana Čaputová, President of Slovakia, who came to Brookwood with her delegation, which included her Minster of Defence, Peter Gajdoš, to lay a wreath and plant the Tree of Peace. https://www.tofp.eu
She was greeted by the Slovak Ambassador HE Lubomir Rehak and his Defence Attaché Colonel Jan Goceliak, who welcomed everyone to the event.
Gerry Manolas, Chair of the Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans, gave a short speech outlining the work the Association does to commemorate the lives of the veterans buried there. In particular she focused on the work with the Czech and Slovak Schools both in the UK and abroad. 
Following this, the members of the the Association of Slovak Schools and Communities in UK had a meeting with JUDr. Ján Varšo, Csc.  from USZZ to discuss issues they have to deal with and their further projects.
