7.12.2013 Czech & Slovak Club CIC together with Nash Dom CIC organized celebration of St Nicholas Day Children from Czech & Slovak School & Nursery prepared short presentation of Slovak songs and poems. We were very proud of them as they did not have much time to prepare for this event and they were so brave to sing on the stage for the first time. St Nicholas came with the Devil and Angel and danced with children to traditional songs, that children sang with him and then it was time to collect children's bags of sweets from St Nicholas. Some children were decorating ceramic plates and Christmas decorations, drawing pictures for St Nicholas, enjoying face painting, decorating gingerbread biscuits or just dancing. Traditional Goulash Soup was served by our volunteers. Families had the opportunity to buy traditional Slovak/Czech food from local shop Janosik that had his stool there. Local councilors also paid their visit together with the police officers, and children loved to see them there.
